Utopia Guitars - "All for an ideal guitar" Original Design The unique design of Utopia Guitars has got some fresh ideas to offer. A compact body design for easy handling, both useful and spacy details, e.g. two bevels (armrest and cutaway), a slotted headstock and a slightly shifted neck-joint at the upper bout on non-cutaway-models. Unique Process It's a long signal path from plucking the string till the sound rings out of the soundhole. Utopia Guitars made up their minds about every single step along this soundbuilding process: bridge and nut as supporting points of the string, transmission of the string vibration into the top and body and the final excitation of the air in the body. That kind of intense work is manifesting itself with great projection and a sound ringing out loud and clear. Acoustic Investigation Wood is THE key ingredient for the sound of an acoustic guitar. It's exposed to many different environmental factors, which effect the structure and growth. Thus the making of acoustic guitars at a certain level cannot be standardized as some other industrial products. Utopia Guitars spent lots of time and energy in acoustic investigation to find out more about the interaction from different woods and different principles of construction. Hand-Made For getting close to the imagination of an ideal guitar, lots of manual work is involved. Be it the taptuning of the top or scalloping the bracing, this steps still cannot be done with machinery. It's still the handwork, skilled ears and an advanced understanding of sound that delivers a result at the highest possible level.
